Scaring those nasty birds...........

In my strawberries I have put a mini disco ball from a discount store, and a couple of dangly critters from Bunnings as well as a gorgeous Owl also from Bunnings - too cute

A Whirlybird from a craft store in one of my vegie patches
One of my Grans craziest activities was when she used to make funny little objects to hang in her garden to scare away the birds. She would use anything and everything. The silver foil pans from frozen pies, string, netting from fruit bought at the supermarket, pegs, you name it she used it. It was like watching a bower bird filling their nest. She loved her garden and has handed down her love to me and my little bugs. She has also handed down her crazy creating skills for keeping the birds at bay. Those naughty critters get in and eat our fruit and veg before we get to so I have been coming up with some novel ideas to scare them away....what do you do to keep the birds away?

Nine Lives

It's my 9 Year Wedding Anniversary this month - 9 years ago I walked down the aisle and married my sweetheart, pain in the backside, love of my life. My husband and I always say we have both never loved anyone more or been more frustrated and angry with anyone in our lives - he he - but we still have fun and enjoy each others company so I think I will let him hang around still - after all - I dont think I would find anyone else to put up with me....

Inspiration...........

realestate.com.au

One of my favourite past times as my close family would know as it used to drive them crazy, is 'cutting and pasting' - I search through thousands of magazines and cut out or tear pages for ideas. Anything from clothing, beauty products or house and garden ideas would be strewn across my bedroom or to my mums horror the lounge room. So imagine my delight when I discovered the joys of the World Wide Web and all its amazing photos and pictures of so many gorgeous and inspiring things - which of course I am now happily adding to myself. I have found some of the best sites and many are fellow bloggers. Even Facebook offers fantastic inspiration from the many talented crafts people who use it as a way to advertise their wares and share their ideas. It is a fantastic medium as I can save as many pictures as I like - so many in fact that I barely get a chance to scroll back through them. I have started saving where I'm finding them so I can share them with you - some you will find off others blogs but I will try to be as original as possible so you can get new ideas from this blog and not just the same old thing you have seen before. Of course where possible I will make mention of where the photos/pictures have come from to give credit where credit is due. So lets begin - here are a few pictures from some of the many Real Estate sites on line - its amazing how so many gorgeous homes are right near by and looking at how others live is fantastic - so many different interpretations of style and design - sometimes it is overwhelming.....

Its raining again.......

Whats another day in Melbourne without more RAIN?? I love rain but really this is getting beyond crazy - the kids want to play outside - I want the kids to play outside so I can get some things done and not feel like Im chasing my tail - and this morning it looked like a beautiful sunny day - but no - seems Mother nature feels like rain today. So no hanging my washing on the line. Its getting impossible to get things dry - some of our washing is starting to get a horrible smell - anyone else having this problem? It doesn't help that its been muggy lately as well - humidity does not help get things dry - we need sun please Mother Nature - its March now - which reminds me - pinch and a punch for the first day of the month - no returns....
